Few took this Army veteran seriously when he entered a physique building contest, but he proved the doubters wrong when he beat a lot of the competition despite having merely one arm and another leg.

Georgia native Jared Bullock, 32, was being an elite Green Beret in 2013 each time a roadside bomb expolded during his tour in Afghanistan.   The blast took his right arm and leg.

“I’ve stood a few bad days at first,” Bullock told InsideEdition.com.

He said he might survive by goal setting techniques for himself everyday. They included having the ability to attend his son's birthday and operating a marathon.

Eventually, he decidedanother milestone is always to entering a physique building competition.

"I like challenges and I figured this might be one that would have a lot of time and prep to try and do," he was quoted saying. "Also I'm very competitive."

He started by visiting the gym.

"For everything that's for the left side, I [work out] normally," he was quoted saying.

The trickier part was performing exercises his right side, where however have to use ankle straps and different prosthetic legs to regulate for his amputations. "I'd seek to create the same pull for the other side to aid maintain symmetry and balance," he explained.

In conjunction with a diet of liver organ and whole grain products, he quickly began coming up to his goals soon enough for the Daytona Beach Classic, that has been held yesterday. 

When Bullock and his awesome trainer attained the competition, he was quoted saying he immediatley bonded with all the participants since several of them were also veterans, though they looked much better than he did.

"One of the things that I cope with is my confidence. I have it, but I do look different," Bullock said. "People were staring. I thought, 'This are going to be awkward."

But the instant Bullock removed his shirt during warm-ups, the atmosphere changed and also the other participants began taking him seriously. "People were like, 'Okay, nevermind. This dude isn't here to try out games."

He finished up coming in 5th place from 12 contestants, and joked he placed above many individuals who competed together with the advantage of all four limbs.

"I felt very good," he explained.

Despite having just completed his first muscle building comeptition, he explained he's getting excited about his next, along with an upcoming race he intends to run.

He even offers to go back to school and complete his degree operating.

"I prefer to live like nothing happened," Bullock told InsideEdition.com.
